Has anyone visited the marble museum in Carrara or visited the quarries? Was it worthwhile? I would appreciate some feedback on this. Thanks.

Yes I went in 2005. I had seen in from the train before but I wanted to get up close. For me it was worth it as it is a famous marble that Michangelo and Da Vinci used and has so much history. It is not touristy at all and it is understated. It is a working quarry and displays and works are industrial. E me if you wish more info. There is nothing else in this area to see while you are there. But if you are driving and passing thru the area do stop by that is what we did while driving from Sta Margarita Lgure to Pisa/Lucca. Hope this helps.
