Car Travel to the Cinque Terre

I want to stay 2 nights in the Cinque Terre. I will have a car. What is the parking situation? Will I have long walks from the parking to a hotel? If so, what are your recommendations on where I should stay?
Thanks

When we went we thought there was no parking so we trained from La Spezia. We found out when we got there that there is parking at the top of the town. I'm not sure there is enough parking to support summer traffic, off season parking probably works.

Steve:

The Hotel Villa Steno in Monterosso has a parking lot for guests and it is easy to access. Also - right down by the beach in the "new" side of Monterosso is a big muni lot. It can fill up quickly in the high season. Have fun.

Steve, read the three clicks above from Kent. On Click #2, I have the parking information from www.cinqueterreonline.com in that thread. In short, don't drive to the CT in the busy season. True, there are a few hotels in Monterosso that have their own parking lots but that's it. I didn't see the new muni lot mentioned above and it's not described in the CT website. I also don't see it in RS' 2007 Italy book. It may be there but... You've been cautioned. You might want to look further north to Levanto or south in La Spezia for parking and take the train in.
