Car sharing services in Tuscany?

Do you have experiences to share using a car sharing service (like Hertz 24/7) in the Tuscany region? I worry that we might reserve a car (and need one that can accommodate 4 adults), then arrive and the car not be available.

But, if reliable, this option seems better than a car rental for 2-3 days. Please share your experiences with car sharing.

Not sure what your exact needs are. I don't have direct experience but, in Florence there are car sharing services that I know of and I've seen many times. They are something similar to ZipCar and I don't know what Hertz 24.7 is or works, because I've never used it even in the US.

The car sharing services in Florence are basically for people who live in the city, don't want to own a car, but might need a car for a few hours. In fact they often charge by the minute with a daily maximum of maybe 50€ a day.

The most famous are:
Car2Go, now part of ShareNow, (https://www.share-now.com/)which rents Smart For Two cars (obviously not good for 4 people.
ShareNGo, which also rents small cars.
Enjoy, which is part of the ENI Group, one of the largest Oil and Energy companies in Europe (https://enjoy.eni.com/en/firenze/home). Enjoy rents a variety of vehicles, not only tiny city cars, so it might work for you, I don't know.
AddumaCar, a Sicilian company, (https://addumacar.it/)
TiMove (https://www.timove.com/en/car-sharing-firenze-2/).

They are all designed for short local car sharing, and I think require a subscription of some sort. They are basically similar to ZipCar.
But for your needs a regular rental might work better. It really depends where you are staying and where you plan to visit.

We always book our cars with www.AutoEurope.com- in multiple countries - and have never had an issue of not getting the car we reserved- or we often get a better car.

All drivers must have an IDP International Driving Permit- you can get at your local AAA.

Are you thinking something like Turo? It has expanded to a few global cities (when next in Dubai, hire a Lamourghini for a day or two), but not sure if it in a city convenient to your Tuscany plans. Identifying the city you intend to head out from for your adventure may help narrow down options.
