Car Service with Car Seats

Hello,

We will be visiting Rome in September with a 10-month-old and 4-year-old. We would like to utilize a car service that can include car seats for trips to/from the airport and day trips. We will be part of a family group of 10. Does anyone have any recommendations for car services? Especially ones where we can request car seats? Thank you!

We have used this very reliable service several times in Rome, once with a car seat request. https://www.romeshuttlelimousine.com/
Give the the height and weight of the children needing the seats and there is an extra charge for them. Unlike the name suggests this is a private transfer service and not a shared shuttle.

If your 4 yo is big enough for an backless booster seat you may want to consider just taking your own. I did that for our kids at about that age. (Rules are constantly changing and it has been a decade so ymmv.) I just purchased a lightweight one in the us and checked in a duffel bag. And for the baby if they are still in a carrier I would also consider taking your own. When relying on car services the quality and cleanliness can vary widely and costs add up quickly. For us we felt lugging our own was easier than making all the arrangements to hire.

Kudos for traveling with your kids that age! It is hard work but we have great memories from those trips.

Thank you so much for the replies!

I put in a request with Rome Shuttle Limousine - I seem to have gotten a quick (automated?) response confirming the reservation, but I'm a little hesitant without knowing I'm interacting with someone? Is that how the system has worked for you? Just because of our somewhat unique requests (the group of 10 and car seats...). I haven't found any vehicles that fit 10 people yet.

Thank you for the thoughts about bring our own. We did consider it, but we are planning minimal time in cars (not renting one), so it seems like too much for trips to/from the airport.

Definitely not. They should have first given you a quote and spelled out what you will get for it. Contact them again for this info. You may also want to contact Rome Cabs (not a taxi service) who we have also used and compare prices.

Thank you for your quick response! I received "booking details" with a quote that includes the number of passengers and a price. There is a confirmation button that it says I can click up to 2 hours before the scheduled transport (which seems surprisingly that they'd expect to be available so last minute!). I'll see if I can reach someone more directly.
