I have arranged a car service from the Rome airport to our hotel with a company called Rome-Transfer. It is costing me 48 euros. Is there any chance that this is a scam or are most companies arranged ahead of time on the internet on the up and up? Just making sure I haven't arranged a car service that is unsafe.

I am sure they are fine. If you use the search box I think you will find several prior references to them. The price is about right. The taxi fare to Rome is set at 40E so you are not paying much of a premium.

We did the same thing, arranged a shuttle service from the airport before we left home and then we weren't sure what would happen once we did arrive. It works though! There are lots of companies with representatives waiting to pick up their fares. The tricky part may be finding yours - most seem to hold up the name of the person who booked.
