Hi,
I plan to rent a car in Florence, drive south through Tuscany and return the car in Rome.
Does anyone have any suggestions ?
I would like to avoid as much in city driving as possible.
Thanks,
Bridget
Rent through Autoeurope.
Pick up in Florence downtown locations
Use Viamichelin to map your route out of town to the S222 that will take you through the Chianti wine towns.
Drop at the Rome airport and take the train into downtown.
Check out argusrentals.com. I found a good deal for a car through that service (Sicily by Car). I would suggest returning the car back to Florence and taking the train to Rome from there. Also, try to get a diesel. You'll save about 25 cents per gallon that way.
