Car rentals at the port of Livorno and Marseilles

Doing a Med cruise in September and would like information on the convenience of renting a car for the day at the ports of Livorno and Marseilles. We are two senior couples traveling together and can't walk long distances to car rental offices. Are there any close to the dock for Princess Cruises in these places?

I can’t opine on the convenience of renting a car because you are not telling us what you intend to do with it or where you intend to go with it.
Regarding Livorno, both Avis rent a car and Hertz rent a car have offices at the port.

For Marseille you should pose the question on the France section. Google shows several rental offices (Avis, Europcar, Sixt, Hertz) at the train station, but I don’t know about the port. The station is not far from the port, but if you have mobility issues, maybe a taxi cab would make it easier, since the walk could be extremely long depending on which dock the cruise ships use (the Port of Marseille is huge).

My wife has mobility issues presently, and she has a very high quality folding mobility scooter. With a lithium battery, it has a 10+ mile range, and it runs a lot faster than I can walk.

We took the scooter to Las Vegas last year, and I cannot tell you the miles we put on it just going back and forth to our rental car in the parking garages. It also helps riding through airports, and she rides it up to the airplane door--and a gate check.

We also took the scooter to Berlin in October, and my wife and I can continue to travel without assistance. It's going with us next month to London and to Athens where we get on a Eastern Med Cruise ending in Venice.

The scooter is in the trunk of our car anytime my wife needs it--like when shopping.

Roberto, in Marseilles we plan on driving in the Luberon area of Provence visiting several villages as time permits. Out of Livorno, visiting places in Tuscany out of Florence.
