I will be flying into Florence in Sept and renting a car at the airport. Do most cars come with GPS, can I get maps for Italy on my Garmen?
You will have to specify that you want GPS. I rented a car last year from the airport and it did not come with GPS. I do own a Garmin however, and brought my own. Mine came loaded with North America and Europe, but if yours doesn't you can buy the Europe map which will include Italy.
It is much better just to buy maps for your Garmin. Reasons: - it will be cheaper - you know how to use it - you understand the directions - you can pre-set addresses and double-check them if they are correct in the comfort of your office chair at home
I completely agree with Andre. Depending on the Garmin model you have you may be limited in regards to internal memory. Go to the Garmin website to verify if you can add additional maps to your unit. It looks like Europe maps will cost around $100. A new unit with US and Europe maps pre-loaded (2370LT) is around $225 on Amazon. Steve
