I've certainly seen this topic on here before but I have a pretty good idea of what I want, just need help with the final details. We'll be heading out from Rome and staying right outside Siena. We'll have kids (5 and 7). To avoid Rome's traffic, we've all but decided on taking the easy train up to Orvieto. From there, we'll walk around the town and get the rental car - heading up to our agriturismo. My question is, with us going to the cinque terre after our Tuscan stay, where would It make the most sense to drop our car off. La Spezia, Lucca or other ideas? Last time we did the Pisa airport but with kids and such, I'm looking for something a little easier. Thanks for your help.

Drop off at La Spezia.
If you decide to rent in Rome, rent at an office near or at the Tiburtina station. It's really easy to get out of town from there as the freeway A24 is there. Just don't do it during evening commute when all commuters are driving out of town.
