Hello - once again asking for some assistance by the veterans. We will have a car for a few days on an upcoming trip. Picking up in Venice and dropping off in Turin by way of Lake Orta area. Our hotel is near Porta Susa for the next day's train to Paris. We'd like a convenient drop off location for the car but not get tangled up in worrying about the ZTL. Not trying to keep the car in Turin - just drop it off. Having never been to Turin does anyone recommend a stress free location for car drop off that maximizes time and efficiency?

Could you arrive after 10:30 am? This way you won't have to worry about ZTLs.
There are 2 drop off locations I know, the first one coming from Porta Susa is inside Porta Nuova station, it's almost exactly in front of the ztl area.

Both are near a subway/metro station that will take you back to Porta Susa in 10 minutes.

A few rental companies are represented near Porta Susa station, such as Budget at via Guiseppe Giusti. It looks like the ZTL map won't be a problem, especially if Dario is indicating that it's only during the morning commute.

It depends how flexible your family is and how light you pack. I will be picking up a Europcar rental on the west side of Turin, in the Holiday Inn at Piazza Massaua, in June. I'm arriving at Porta Susa, then will take the nice, modern Metro for 7 stops and exit right at the HI. I am not a fan of taxis and I can manage my luggage easily. Then we are heading west into Val di Susa; it's really easy to get out of town from there. I presume it would be just as easy to drive into town and drop it there at the outer edge. I have driven in Turin before, and it's really not that hard; the roads are wider and straighter than the Italian norm. So if this sounds like too much effort, I think a rental car location closer to Porta Susa wouldn't be too challenging to get to.

Thanks. I don't see us arriving before 10:30 so that helps. We'll be leaving Lake Orta that morning so it's more like noon or early afternoon arrival. Sounds like it's not a terribly hard city to navigate by car or metro. We'll look at the options but it sounds like as long as we're comfortable travelling ten minutes one direction or another (great!) we'll be ok. Thank you!
