Does anyone have experience dropping off their rental car in Sorrento? If so, do you know how convenient it is to get from rental offices to the cicumvesuvia train station in Sorrento?

it depends on which company you use, but the major ones are all on Corso Italia.
Europcar is at most 3 min walk from the station (maybe 300 mt=1000 ft).
Hertz, is across the street from Europcar, therefore same distance.
Avis is more down the road from the previous two. Not quite a mile, but maybe 3/4 of a mile from the Circumvesuviana station (15 min walk, let's say).
Check rental car prices with a consolidator:

www.kemwel.com
(check both, although both are part of the same corporation). They work with the major companies above but often have better deals than directly.
