Planning to,fly to,Rome, train to Florence, 2 or 3 nights at cinque Terre. Then, 3 nights in Tuscany. Haven't planned the rest of the trip. Want car for Tuscany. Need help planning when and where to rent car.

I'm looking for the same information. We are doing something similiar and have read that its pretty easy to take a train from CT to La Spezia and rent a car there for Tuscany. After Tuscany we are headed to the Rome airport for one night before flying out.

If you intend to visit Tuscany with a car after the 5 Terre, you should rent in La Spezia. Or Pisa.
La Spezia is just minutes from the 5 Terre by train. Avis is the only company you could walk to from the station. However all others are only a 3-4km away by taxi.
