Car rental Insurance

Looking for some specific advise for car insurance coverage in Italy. We’re renting for 2 days from a small company in San Gimignano to tour the hill towns
The company has included insurance and according to my research it’s required in Italy
But it’s a high deductible. My credit card has coverage but i have to decline the rental company insurance for the credit card coverage to kick in. It sounds like I’m not allowed to deal it in Italy?

The provided car rental insurance is indeed high deductible and very limited coverage. I think this coverage is required by Italy. My understanding is that the credit card insurance does not require refusing the rental agency minimal insurance. For 2 days I would just pay the 10 - 12 euros for 100% coverage by a carrier such as Allegiant. Theoretically no muss, no fuss.
