We will be in Rome in early May. We would like to rent a car to drive to Montenero (about 2.5 hours south, near the Abruzzo National Park). Not wanting to drive in Rome itself, what would be a good way to take the train somewhere outside of the city and then pick up a rental car. Or, is there a better idea.
