We are spending time in Rome then taking train to Orvieto. Planning to stay in Orvieto for day trips, can we rent a car in Orvieto?
thanks
We rented a car through Autoeurope, picking it up at the 'Hertz at the bottom of the hill'. It's about a block from the train station.
Anna,
Yes at Avis Via Sette Martiri 44
Do a google search for "auto rental Orvieto, Italy"
It is such a small town, I doubt it.
I think I saw a hertz or avis at the bottom of the hill.
Ummm, Carl, there has been plenty of discussion here confirming that there is car rental in Orvieto.
Anna - If you can plan when you'll be renting, do reserve in advance from the US. You'll save compared to renting on the spot. Autoeurope is a good rental agent and can give you very good deals. Plus, they're based in Maine and have a 24/7 toll-free line for great assistance in English.
We used Autoeurope but actually returned the car in Chiusi (after touring Tuscany & took a quick train ride to Orvieto. Depends if you want the car in Orvieto for the countryside. For me the less I have to worry about a car the better.
We dropped off our car at the Hertz office accross from the train station. There was also a Avis office but it had closed. This was in Nov.2007.
