Both locations to pick up the car are in downtown, either in La Spezia or Lucca. We will be coming from the CT by train. We are going to spend about a half day in Lucca, then drive on to a farm stay in San Gimigiano, touring the Tuscany area for 6 days. We will return the car in Orvieto. Is it easier to get to get around La Spezia or Lucca to get to the car rental place?
We are considering a Ford KA or Fiesta.

Just returned a car to the lucca hertz location. Are you staying in lucca? If so it's a 2 minute walk from the western city gate (if you have to wait at the light). Also getting out of lucca is simple, the town does not extend very far. James

We are coming from the CT, so would take the train from La Spezia to Lucca if renting a car there. We are not staying in Lucca overnight, just there for the morning to sight see, then on to San Gigimigano where we stay for 6 days.
