Europecar or Autoeurope? Also looking for good spot to drop our rental car in Rome after arriving from the north, likely Orvieto. I know about the drop the car in Orvieto and train to Rome version but wondering if there's a rental car office in town, but out of the fray that makes the getting to our hotel near the pantheon not so stressful.
Sign into AutoEurope.com and plug in your travel dates. Before you make your reservation, it'll ask you which addresses you'd like to return the car to.
Look up the addresses on an online map to see which one is nearest the Pantheon. Choose that location.
Use this link for autoeurope.com and it will display the map for you after you enter the city in "Location":

Yep, the huge rental lot under the Borgehsee gallery, adjacent to the Spanish Steps. All the majors are there. We love autoeurope, and picked up an Autoeurope rental there once when we were leaving Rome. It was quite easy to get to the freeways from there. Use your GPS, that you bring from home, to plot your route there. Don't wander thru town or you can get caught up in some of the ZTL's! Others have reported that the train station is another good drop-off location.
