We are coming to Italy June 1-June 16. Will be going Milan, Lake Como, Venice and then six days in Florence before heading back to Milan. We are scheduled on trains the entire route, but once in Florence I was thinking of renting a car at least one day, maybe a couple to visit the Tuscany area. It is just my wife, myself and our 12 year old daughter. I have already gotten a driving permit just in case. We are staying near Ponte Vecchio on Via Della Terme street. Are there any tips on renting a car, who should we rent from there if using for a day trip. Should I schedule ahead of time? Thanks for any information.
There are many many threads here discussing car rental pick up in Florence
We always book with AutoEurope.com
Pick up at train station or you can pick up at airport
Here is a recent thread-always pay attention to Roberto’s advice-he is a Florence native
Because of the expected crowds this year I would definitely book car in advance.
If you book for more than a day you will need to figure out parking
