car rental from france to italy

Are the drop off fees high or is it possible to rent a car in Marseille France and return it in Turin, Italy. What is a good company to rent from?

You'll just have to get a quote. They can't rent a car with French license plates in Italy, so it will have to be transported back to France. Who knows? Maybe you can find a deal.

Generally drop off fees in Italy are high to very high. But you don't know until you ask. So ask!!

Are the drop off fees high

Depends on your definition of 'high'

Likely to be an additional $400-$1000 to do international drop

Rental company and and car size will affect just how much

$700/week sounds like a lot to me. I would expect closer to $200/week sans drop fee. When we have done this kind of thing, we’ve dropped the French car in Nice, took a train to Italy, and got a new car in Italy, at the first town that had a rental agency. The Nice drop- off is very little hassle. The rental agency is next to the train station. Or, it occurs to me, you might look into just taking the train from Marseille to Turin.
If you check on AutoEurope or Kemwel, you can see which Italian towns near the border have car rental agencies.
