We are landing in florence and plan on 2 days of travel in tuscany. Our second night has us staying in the cinque terre. We plan on picking up the car at the airport in Florence and heading out of town immediately (lucca, pisa, san G...). Can someone suggest a logical place to drop the car off prior to heading into the cinque terre? My initial thought is La Spezia and taking the train into CT (staying in the "V" town, vernazza?) What would make the most sense in order to make this as painless as possible. We need the car as many of these small towns do not offer timely or direct transportation. Any help suggesting a rental company and drop off location would be appreciated.
Book through Autoeurope and drop in either La Spezia or the Pisa airport (easy train into Pisa and then from there the CT).
My husband and I rented our car in La Spezia - a ten minute walk from the La Spezia train station after our stay in the Cinque Terre. You could drop the car off, walk to the train station and go on in to CT.
I believe we rented fro AutoEurope that year. No problems.
