Hello Everyone,
We are a party of 4 adults traveling to Italy in May. We want to rent a vehicle for only 3 days to visit relatives in the Abruzzi region. We will pick up at Rome airport and return the car in Naples.
My question is, what type of vehicle we should rent.? As mentioned, we are 4 adults and each of us will have one check in sized bag, 4 bags total. I see vehicles like the CITROEN GRAND 4 SPACE TOURER or the PEUGEOT 5008. They are both considered "standard vans".
They each accommodate up to 7 passengers we will be only 4 but will out luggage fit in the boot?
Is anyone familiar with these vehicles or do you have any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum! We were in Italy last month and rented a Peugeot 5008 for 3 of us. We fit one large and two enormous suitcases in the back and had space for some smaller bags but we couldn’t have carried another large suitcase. The problem was the 3rd suitcase had to go crosswise because of the way the back seat sloped and the rear hatch sloped. If you can pack with 3 big suitcases and a couple of carry-on size bags you’ll probably be okay; worst case you could fit something in between the two backseat passengers. Good luck!

I think we will reserve one of the cars I mentioned and hope for the best!
Can I ask what rental company you used for your rental?
I am looking at a rental through Expedia.

A reminder that you are renting the "class of car". You will receive what ever car in that class that they have available.
