we are 4 adults traveling in italy we will have 4 pieces of luggage plus our carry ons. will the opalinsignia have adequate storage space? what is the trunk area in square feet?

That assumes that is the car you will actually get. It could be a similar type, not necessarily the Insignia.
It's a medium size car approximately the size of a Toyota Camry. It also has a wagon model, which would probably hold more cargo. It's hard to say if your luggage will fit. It depends if you are each having a trunk or regular size bags. Test your suitcases on a Camry or similar size car at home. If it fits it will fit the Insignia.
