Car Rental Drop off in Florence

We are traveling to Italy in May. We will be picking up the rental car in Rome, exploring Tuscany for a few days and then dropping the car in Florence (location near the train station)and using trains the rest of the trip.

It appears that the Car rental office near the train station in Florence is in the Red TLZ (limited traffic zone). Does anyone know if it is, in fact, in the zone and if so, how do we drop the car off witout violating the traffic zone.

Thanks

Just a thought... does your car rental agency also have a location at the airport? It might be less stressful to drop the car at the airport and take public transportation into Florence, rather than driving to the train station. I believe this would avoid the TLZ concern. Check though, to see if there is an additional drop-off fee for the airport. Good luck!

It doesn't matter if it is or not. Drive in (avoiding one-way streets and other obvious traffic infractions) and drop it off.

Too much is made of ZTLs. You can go in them to stay at a hotel, for example, and the hotel will get a ZTL-waiver if you tell them you need one.

The car rental office is where it is. It would not be there if you couldn't get cars in and out of it.

They'll take care of it. The only problem might be (and this is a pure guess)is if you drove through all the other ZTLs to get to the one at which you need to do business. Tell the rental company. It won't be a problem.
