Our cruise ship is stopping at the port of Livorno and we are interested in renting a car for the day directly at the cruise terminal, if possible. Does anyone have any experience with this? Can you can offer information on any car rental companies that rent cars that can be picked up and dropped off at the cruise terminal? A website address would be very helpful. Thanks for your assistance.

George - I've had about 25 cars waiting for me at the gangway as I've left the ship in Livorno , heading to Cinque Terre and /or Tuscany. Call Hertz International and tell them you want to pick up your car at the ship - Not in town - and Sylvia or one of her co-workers will be there with your vehicle as well as mapquest to wherever you want to go - If needed.

Also check with Autoeurope.com. Call them up at their Maine headquarters and ask them if they offer that service.
You will be pleasantly surprised with their prices.
