Car rental - Assisi to Radda (Tuscany)?

Hi readers, my husband and I are going to spend 3 weeks traveling through Italy this July. We are going to be spending a night in Assisi, followed by 5 nights in Radda in Chianti, Tuscany. During that time, we will need a rental car. Our next stop is Florence.

Can anyone make recommendations for a good pick-up/drop-off city en route to Radda and before Florence?

Some possibilities: Pickup in Assisi, drop off in Siena. Pickup in Perugia, drop off in Siena...

Any info/advice would be appreciated! Grazie!

I was in Assisi in May (with a car) and don't believe there's a rental car agency there. Closest pick-up city may be Perugia, but be cautious of ZTL zones in the city center. For some reason, Siena is an expensive drop-off city. Consider Florence airport as an alternative. Easy bus connection from airport to train station.
