Will be in Italy in May and will need a car in Siena and Revo, Any suggestions for best price and who to reserve with?
Should we get the rental prior to leaving the US?

Many on this forum are happy with AutoEurope.com and Hertz.com. AutoEurope is a consolidator of rental cars and flights, and often you'll get a Hertz car. Yes, you'll want to make the reservation before leaving. And in Italy, you'll be required to purchase the CDW coverage, and your home insurance coverage will not apply in Italy. Don't forget to go to AAA and get an International Drivers' license. When I was there 4/2012, I dropped the car at another city for no drop off fees.
For Tuscany, a rental car allows you to see much more of the region, and it's the way to go.
