Car or Train to Naples?

Hi, Should we use our rental car to drive from Montepuliano to Naples or should we take the train from Siena to Naples? Would it save us time to drive? On google maps, it says it takes about 4 hours. Is it a simple drive with a GPS? Thanks!

I can't comment on how the trains work. The drive is simple and will take less than four hours - - until you hit the urban area of Naples as you come off of the A3. After that, it goes to hell in a hurry - - if you don't know the city, a gps won't start to help you. If you don't need the car after you're done with Naples, get rid of it early and choke the cost of the train tickets.

We wouldn't be driving in the city, just to the airport. Does this make a difference?

All the difference in the world. There are signs once you get to A1 split. The gps will sail you right in. Do it.

I agree, if you need to get to the airport, take the car! It is always a hassle to get to the airport from the train station.
