Car or taxi from Taormina to Catania airport

Take a bus or taxi...taxis are everywhere since Taormina is super touristy. Obviously the bus is a fraction of the cost (€8,20). The first one leaves at 6:30 am and arrives at the airport by 8:00 am, the second bus leaves at 7:45 am and arrives at 9:10 am. I would think you can make it even with the second bus. I don't know about shuttles, I took the bus. Obviously a little more hassle but costs a lot less. I didn't have luggage (only a small duffle) so it wasn't an issue for me.

I thought you had a rental car? I would think that returning it to the airport en route for your flight would be the best way. I'm sure you won't have any issue finding some kind of private transfer if you forgo either taxi or bus - just ask your hotel or google it.

I hope you post a trip review once you're back. I'm wondering how you enjoyed your trip to Sicily...I hope everything went well and you had a lovely time in the different towns you visited, even Palermo. Taormina is quite the place to end your trip.
