I want to go to the Wine Festival in Greve in Chianti on Sunday September 12 and to Lucca for the Santa Croce Luminare on the 13 of September. I don't want to drive to either, but there is no Public Transportation back to Florence where I am staying. I'd like to hire a taxi, but will I be able to find one at midnight? Especially with all the others that may be using taxis at the same time? These are both pretty long rides too[INVALID]perhaps there are extra buses running for the festivals? Anmyone have any suggestions? We are renting scooters (125cc) and thinjk that going from Florence (outside the ZTL) to Greve would be doable, but Lucca seems a little far...any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks!

Michael, there are frequent bus runs from Florence to Greve in Chianti. The bus company is SITA. The SITA bus station is about 100 yards to the left of the main Florence train station as you look at the front of the train station. (For orientation, the bus depot is on the right side). You can't see it from the train station but trust me, it's there. It looks like there are buses running in each direction into the late night. Here's the link. http://www.acvbus.it/orari/365.pdf. Sorry that it's in Italian but... There are also frequesnt trains to Lucca. Last train to Florence departs at 22:32.
