we would like to hire a car while we are in Rome to drive us the place of our parents birth .. rivisondoli. How can we do that? Is is possible?

It's certainly possible. I was looking for a driver to take us from Rome to Perugia and found several though google.
Then I finally thought to look in Rick's Rome book and found a recommendation. Ended up going with him--Price was among the lowest, and I couldn't find much independent recommendations for the others.
