Iwould like to take car factory tours while in Italy. Any suggestion on what kinds of tours availabe.

There are a variety close to the Bologna area (Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Ducati Motorcycle). Depending on the brand they either have factory tours, museums, or both. Some are restrictive, for example, Ferrari factory can only be visited by Ferrari owners. www.tripadvisor.com Italy forum has quite a few posts on this topic.

We wanted to visit the Ferrari factory but it is practically impossible unless your Ferrari dealer sets it up. We visited the museum instead and really enjoyed seeing all the pretty red cars, and a few that were other colors. My husband flipped over all the Ferraris we saw driving around Maranello.
