In mid-September I will be traveling to the Amalfi Coast with a dear friend; we will be staying in Positano. She is 87 but a seasoned, confident traveler,as am I (age 65). I have bad osteoarthritis of the right knee but can walk for 4+ hours, can walk up mildly graded slopes but cannot climb many stairs (prefer no more than 150 at a time). We have hired a car and driver for a full day and want advice on an itinerary. I would like to use our time as efficiently as possible ( i.e.: not spend a significant part of our time driving to a site), and see those places that would be otherwise difficult to see on our own, either because they are inaccessible to someone without a car or because getting there involves difficult walking/hiking. Beautiful, less-known towns would be an example of places that would interest us. Villas Cimbrone and Rufolo are on my list, tentatively, although we are considering going to the Ravello Music Festival, in which case we would see both gardens on that day. We both enjoy museums, gardens, music, art; my friend is a former concert
pianist, so anything musical would be a treat for her. Many thanks for any advice that you might offer.
