Is it Ok for women to wear capris in Italian churches when shorts aren't allowed?
Yes, you just need to cover your thighs and knees. Most churches have something for you to wear to cover yourself, so it is not really necessary to be concerned. Many people wear shorts and are given a cover up upon entering the church, which they then dispose of when leaving the church.
Italy in the summer is very hot, and you might want to just stick to shorts.
I have always worn capris in this situation without problem. Don't forget to also have something with which to cover your shoulders if you are wearing something skimpy like a tank top.
No problem with capris. Wear a shirt with sleeves - even "cap" sleeves will be fine. I wore a skort that came just to my knees and had no problem - possibly because my top would be considered appropriate.
Capris are fine, even on men. (Seriously.) It's a European thing. :-)
