I’ve heard Procida is comparable for interest but much less expensive. It it a place worth going to?

Definitely worth going to. Procida was named the “Culture Capital of Italy” by the Italian government in 2022. Several movies have been filmed on Procida including the Academy-Award winners “Il Postino” and “Cleopatra.” And—as you’ve noted— it is much less expensive and less crowded than Capri.
