Hi, we have 2 nights in the south of Italy. Thoughts/suggestions on whether we should book hotel room 2 nights in Capri or 2 nights in Sorrento? We know we want to go to Capri/Anacapri and Blue grottos and take a private boat tour of the Amalfi coast. End the trip on the day we leave with a 2 hour tour of Pompeii with Antonio (Rick Steve's recommendation). I guess my question is should we visit Sorrento or just focus on Capri?

I would stay in Sorrento for the two nights. I AM assuming you mean 2 nights and 2 full days.
Day 1 - take the ferry to Capri
Day 2 - take the tour of the Amalfi Coast and leave in the afternoon for your 2 hour Pompeii tour
If your boat tour operator is is based in Capri, then it probably makes more sense to stay there. That said, a private boat tour of the Amalfi Coast could take ALL day and leave you little time for anything else on the island.
What month this trip will be, and where are you coming from before Capri/Sorrento?
End the trip on the day we leave with a 2 hour tour of Pompeii.
Where are you leaving to, and do you have to be there are a specific time, as in catching a flight?
