Capri Boat Tour and activities rec's

Searching these forums, most of what I've found discuss private charters picking you up from towns on the coast and transporting you to Capri...not exactly what we are looking for.

My wife and I will be staying in Sorrento and plan on taking the normal ferry to Capri for the day. Once we arrive on Capri, we would like a boat tour around the island...don't necessarily need to go to the Blue Grotto or swim, just would like a nice boat ride. Any rec's for specific tour companies? Also, besides taking the funicular to the top, any particular sights/activities we should try? Thanks!

I loved San Michele, the Villa and gardens built by Dr Munthe. He wrote a memoir about it, "The Story of San Michele" which I read before we visited. Knowing the background made it much more fun to see it in person. It is in Anacapri and the views are amazing!

The gardens of Augustus near CapriTown have good views of the sea and the Faraglioni rocks. The perfume shops are near the gardens also. We enjoyed Anacapri and the views there also.

Stayed for 2 nights in Capri October 2029 and early day 2, just went to the dock and caught a boat trip around the island. Not special named tour. It was very good. The water was too high / too rough for any Blue Grotto tours. Then went up and caught the bus to Anacapri and just wandered around. Church San Michele Arcangelo with its dramatic mosaic floor was interesting. Had a late lunch and caught the bus back to Capri main piazza and it was very crowded with day tours following various guides.
Or you could walk to the East end to Villa Jovis, stopping along the way for an Aperol Spritzer.

Unlike the ferry ticket booths, the boat tour was just one company. Very easy. It’s fun and worth it. There’s not any real sights I would point you to beside what you’ve mentioned. I do recommend skipping Capri Town for Anacapri. The crowds don’t really get up there until after lunch, and it’s a pleasure to stroll around.
