We will be taking the ferry from Naples to Capri. I would like the opportunity to go out into the water on a tour. The ones I found from Rick Steves appears to be from Sorrento. Any insight on this??
There are several here. It just depends what kind of tour and price range you're looking for.
There are several boats in the marina near the ferries that hold a lot of passengers. They circle Capri giving you a look at some interesting geological features. I much preferred our time up above in the pedestrianized areas, away from the crowds. We’re you considering a boat ride after getting off the ferry? The same day?
There’s an hour long fast boat tour around the island (Laser? Is the company I think) They’re listed in RS guidebook. You book and board these at the Capri marina. I actually found this to be quite enjoyable on a nice day, early morning before it got hot. These same boats will stop at Blue Grotto and do that whole thing if you want and it’s open (depends). An hour isn’t all that long, and I thought it was worth it. Be sure you get the earliest ferry you can to Capri. The island gets positively overrun by lunchtime, but can be very enjoyable if you stay ahead of the crowds.
