Capri bathing establishments??

Can anyone recommend a particular bathing establishment in Capri? Or could anyone offer an estimate of how much my husband and I can expect to spend for a few hours at the beach at one of these type of places? We like the idea of trying out one of the bathing establishments as they seem to offer great beaches and it would be a new experience for both of us. Thanks!

I was brought to one of these by the son of my hotel's proprietor. It was near Anacapri, on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean. The best part was, there was this stairway that hugged the cliff, descending to the sea; all along, little sunbathing platforms had been carved from the rock, each with 2 or 3 beach chairs; but the best part of all, was that when you got to the bottom, you just slid into the warm sea water, and... not 10 yards away was the BLUE GROTTO!!! You just swim right up to it, and jockey for position with all the guided rowboats, and swim right in. Let me tell you, I did this numerous times, and it was my absolute favorite memory of my trip.
Do I know the name of this miraculous bathing establishment? Of course not! ;-) Never did... but if you ask around of the locals, I'll bet you can find it. It's not a particularly fancy place- or at least, it wasn't 10 years ago. But it was paradise.

List of bathing establishments on Capri. You should try one, it is a very "Italian" experience and they are usually well organised with loungers, umbrellas, cafes, showers, WCs etc. A quite diferent beach experience especially to those of us used to open beaches.

However, be prepared for wooden decks over the sea/rock platforms with steps down to the water because, being a volcanic region, there are not many sand beaches in the area. More likely to be pebbles and those few that are sand are likely to be black or grey sand.
