I don't see this on the RS Sicily tour while in Palermo. Is it part of the tour or is there time to see this?
Tours of the cappucin crypts are not included. While there is some free time in Palermo the crypts aren’t near the city center so you’d have to figure out transportation.
I think it's doable on foot, but it's a ~ 30 min walk. Here are the directions:

We meant to see this on our pre-tour day, but we were told from multiple locals that it wasn't interesting. I'm not sure if that meant not interesting to them? Or not interesting as a tourist trap. Either way, we never made it there. (We did see the Capuchin crypt in Rome, so perhaps it was not as much of a must see for us in that respect.)
Have you seen the Cappuccini Crypts in Rome? If not and you're coming to Rome, so worth seeing the Crypts and Museum, on the Via Veneto at Piazza Barberini, easy to reach with Metro Subway stop Barberini.
We went to the Capuchin Crypt before our RS Sicily tour. We stayed extra nights at the tour hotel and it was walkable.
This Crypt is entirely different than the one in Rome.
If you are able to be in Palermo early I highly recommend visiting the Capella Palatine and Norman Palace as well.
Carolyn, I have questions about your Rick Steves tour. Woukd you mind emailing me privately? [email protected]
Thank you!
Or you can PM me on this site and ask me what you want to know. We went last November. It was really enjoyable.
