Hello. What would be the recommended vaparetto from the Cannaregio area to Burano and Murano? We are staying at the Ai Mori d'Oriente Hotel. Do vaporetto’s stop running at a certain time tomorrow? Thanks in advance.
I have stayed in that hotel! The people on reception were very helpful with such queries when I stayed.
Orto is your closest stop to go to Murano on the No 4.2 boat, every 20 minutes. Murano to Burano take the No 12 boat. The "N" boat runs all night between Burano, Murano, and Fondamente Nova. It might take a while, but you won't get stuck over night. From Fondamente Nova, the last boat to Orto is the No 5.1 at 23:04, but it is about a half mile walk from there to your hotel.
Our hotel offered private water taxi to Murano this morning, which was we were happy to use. Walked around Murano for a few then took the Vaporetto to Burano, which we enjoyed much more. Getting back to Venice was easy, Vaporetto to Fondamaneta Nova and from there we walked approximately 10 minutes to our hotel. Thanks again.
Just curious, since this comes up regularly. How much did the water taxi from Cannaregio to Murano cost?
A lot of those hotel offers are free water taxi to Murano hoping you buy big ticket items from one of the glass-blowing outfits. You are under no obligation to buy, and can just make your own way back to your hotel. Sounds like it worked out out good.
Sam, I agree. We were let out right at the factory entrance. We watched for about ten minutes while a small item was made, which was interesting. And then we were escorted through the showroom to look at items. We politely but firmly told them we weren’t purchasing and left.
Harold....the hotel we were staying at provided the one way trip to Murano by water taxi for free. There were six adults and one child on the water taxi, probably room for twelve to fourteen. I don’t know the cost for a water taxi but would guess between €80-120.
