Cancelled Underground Tour

Seeking advice please: just received email from Walks of Italy stating the Coop Culture cancelled our VIP Colosseum Underground tour for Friday Oct 30. City Wonders still shows this as available as does the Coop Culture site itself. Why would this be? Too many people and Walks of Italy's group got cut? Any suggestions. I leave for Italy on Monday. Thanks for any tips. So disappointed, really wanted to go with Walks of Italy. They have offered a full refund or the Premium Colosseum Tour without the underground. Should I just take that and skip the underground?

Hi, I just want on the VIP underground with Walks of Italy in September. I would ask them if you still get to walk on the wood floor that has been placed over part of the ground. The general public does not get to walk around the colloseum like I had imagined. Everyone gets to stand at the top, move around there and look down. Only the private tour groups get to go and be where the gladiators stood, look up to see the crowds staring down. I found that the most fun, great for pictures, too. our group only had 15 minutes. Underground was underwhelming.

If you don't get to go on the "show floor", then I would find another tour.

I would think that WOI would be the best resource for information regarding the cancellation. Did you ask them?

I did call and ask them - all they said was the Coop mgr cancelled it on them.

If the official website (coopculture) is still showing slots available I would book with them. There is no way to know why the tour was cancelled or even if coopculture did the cancelling. I would get a refund and rebook if you wish to take the tour.

** Only the private tour groups get to go and be where the gladiators stood,**

the arena floor is part of every underground tour. It's usually visited first, followed by the underground and then the third tier. You don't need to be on a private tour to get to the arena, just the underground tour.
