We have been Italy several times and did eat at a restaurant with a view of the canal(forget the name). Our granddaughter will be with us this time and thought it would be fun to have dinner right on the a back canal not the Grand Canal.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I posted on the reviews site by mistake.
Recently a friend who lives in Venice took me to a lovely lunch at Osteria Ae Saracche, which is on a side canal and in the warmer weather has outside tables. It is in Santa Croce on Fondamenta Rio Marin.
Vini da Gigio, on a smaller side canal. We have eaten there several times, good food.
Google Trattoria Da Giorgia ai Greci and see if it will meet your needs. It's on a side canal close to San Marco, but well away from the crowds, and has really good food. Never had to have a reservation.
