can use debit card with star network in italy?

I have a debit card from my local bank. It has MasterCard on front But back of card has Star network, not cirrus! will I able to use it all over northern Italy at most ATM machines? or do I need to get another debit card that has Cirrus network on back? we also want to use this debit card in Paris at ATM machines. thanks! barb

Star networks is only available in North America and, I think, primarily used by credit union. However, if it is a MasterCard you should be ok because it will use the master card network even if not listed on the card.
