Can someone recommend an Airline to travel within europe?

After Rome, we were planning on traveling to Paris. I had heard that traveling within Europe by airline was fairly cheap. Can someone recommend and airline?

It can be cheap but not the most convenient. Be sure of the airport. Sometimes the discount airlines use out of the way airport that do not have good public transportation connects and can be an hour or more from where they say they are going.

I still like to use kayak.com
The other thing I will do is google the two cities you want to travel between and airlines servicing the areas will pop up. That is what I did from london to madrid, etc

also check the luggage allowance (including carry-on) carefully and any other fees. Many travelers are attracted by the seemingly impossible low price but then rack up dozens of Euros in charges for excess weight, getting a ticket issued at the airport, checking luggage, etc.

Many travelers like easyJet. Not knowing your exact travel dates, Rome Ciampino (CIA) to Paris Orly (ORY) one-way fare is around €34. There are many budget airlines in Europe...check some of the sites previously mentioned.

Steve,

For a trip from Rome to Paris, I'd look at EasyJet which flies from Ciampino to Orly (neither of which are too far from the city centres, unlike Beauvais which is some distance from Paris).

Travelling via "budget airlines" can be cheap however that depends. Most often the least expensive prices are offered for those that book early on flights. As a flight fills, the prices increase. Using September as a "guide", the least expensive prices on that route are €33.99, inclusive of all taxes and fees.

However, many of the budgets also have a variety of other charges, which could include of course checked luggage charges. You'll need to look carefully at the Terms & Conditions of whichever airline you're considering. Also, in some cases tickets once purchased are non-refundable and non-changeable (that will be listed in the T & C if applicable).

If you're planning on travelling by air within Europe, be sure to PACK LIGHT as the luggage restrictions are somewhat more restrictive than here. Euro airlines usually only allow ONE carry-on bag of the approved size and weight (that DOESN'T mean one bag plus a personal item such as a Purse or Laptop case, it means ONE bag only).

Cheers!

As an added suggestion, if there's a discount airline flying your route, check the large national airlines as well. They may offer similar fares but with better schedules and luggage allowances. Alitalia and Air France would be two to check.

Ryan Air is very cheap and seems to be good. I have only flown once but had no problems.

I just used Ryanair to fly my family from Granada, Spain to Barcelone/Girona, Spain. It was dirt cheap and we had no problems. However, you must travel light, only 33lbs per person can be checked.
