Can I use my hair straightener with an adapter in Italy?

Hello,
I know this subject has come up a lot but I want to make sure. The Voltage stamped on my hair straightener says " 110-240V 50/60HZ " . Does this mean that it is 'dual voltage' and I can use it in Italy with an adapter and I do not need a converter for this?

Thank you for clarifying this for me.

Yep. With the correct adapter you are good to go. Just check to see if there is a switch to change voltages. Some have them, but others are automatic.

There was a great discussion about this a couple of weeks ago. There were replies from several people who seemed to have in depth knowledge about the European electrical system, so it was very informative. I just looked it up and the title is "Adapters."

My hair dryer has the switch, but my flat iron that I just received from Amazon just has the voltage on the plug. The box has absolutely nothing written on it, but the electrician in the family tells me it will work in Norway.

Devices like flatirons that just heat up do not need to switch voltage. Includes immersion heaters for water.

Devices that have a motor, like hair dryers, must have a switch to change the voltage, or you will burn up the motor.
