can I find snow in October

I would like to show my 5 year old little girl snow (we live in Texas where it never snows). We are going from October 5th to 17th. I am still organizing things. We are going to the Cinque Terre. I noticed the Apuan Alps .. do they have snow in October?

If you visit higher elevations (in the Alps), you may see some snow. Are you going to be in Cinque Terre the whole time? If you want to head up to Switzerland there would be a greater chance of it.

It is highly unlikely to have any snow in that area in October.

we are starting in this order (south and working our way north in a car) few days umbria, then a few days in Tuscany, then stop at pisa on our way to spend a few days in the Cinque Terre. I was trying to see if there was a place to see snow while leaving the Cinque Terre on our way to Florence . If it was only a few hours out of the way, we can do it otherwise we will not try to find snow.

On that route you would be hard pressed to see snow in the winter. Come to Colorado it is cheaper.

We were in the area from mid October to early November. It was nice weather and, aside from a couple light rains, didn't see anythin close to snow. We came down through the Brenner Pass after spending the first half of October in Germany and Austria. I think there were remnants of snow in the high elevations but nothing in valleys yet. You would probably have to get into the high Alps and take a gondola up to a glacier to be certain of seeing snow.
