Just need a driver for 4 people to the airport in a few days. It seems expensive (100 euros) but i was looking for something in the 50-70 range if possible. Thanks!
I highly recommend Antonio Prudente and his company for a private driver. They are wonderful. His email is: [email protected]
I highly recommend Mariano Fiorentino: [email protected]. His website is www.pleasantravel.com.
The average cost for two is about 80 euro. Have a look at the "sticky" on travel between Sorrento and Naples at the top of the Sorrento Forum on TripAdvisor for some car company names.
Seems like everyone wants about 100 euros. Got any email
addresses for the guys who charge 80? I'm on my cell phone Internet and tripadvusor isn't coming up right. Thanks!
These are some of the ones from TripAdvisor. We have only used the first but found them to be reliable. As there are four of you expect to pay more than 80 euro as they will have to use a larger vehicle.
Also Dave, it's polite to tip the driver.
Have you considered taking the Curreri airporter bus, for only 10 Euros per passenger? It's so convenient and there are 8 departures daily to choose from.
Found one guys, thanks again. Leaving sorrento tomorrow! How much do you usually tip? Like 5 euro?
I would tip 10%. It's 2 1/2 hrs of driving r/t for the driver.
Susan, we also went with Antonio Prudente--for a ride down the Amalfi Coast. Great guy, great price, he speaks English, is professional, courteous and tells great stories. We cannot recommend him highly enough, and are so glad other readers on this forum know about him.
Hi Kathleen. Yes, Antonio Prudente is great. We found out about him when we were staying in Sorrento from other Americans at our hotel. Many people at the hotel had used him and highly recommended him. We've used him each time for our 3 trips to Sorrento. The last time, his employee picked us up at the Naples airport. I had just tried to get money from the ATM there and couldn't, so I did not have one Euro on me. I was very upset. As his driver drove us to our hotel in Sorrento, I spoke to Antonio on his employee's cell phone...I told him I had no money to pay but as soon as I could call my bank and get things straightened out, I would pay him (this happened on a Sunday so I had to wait until the next day), he told me to absolutely not worry about it. He then offered to give ME money to tide us over until the next day. I thought that was extraordinarily kind of him. I didn't borrow the money from him but was very touched by his sincere offer. He's a great guy.
