Campo de Fiori and the Pantheon

I need some help figuring out when to go to Campo de Fiori. We're going to Rome and arriving 9am at Termina from Florence. As we're renting an apartment just below the colloseum I want to get some food but I also want to see the Pantheon and the churchs around it. I've heard that Campo de Fiori only has vegetables in the morning but the thought of carrying food around for hours when I see the Pantheon and other churches and Galleria Doria Pamphilj the doesn't sound practical but I'll do it if that's my only choice.
Thoughts on what to do?

The market usually starts shutting down around noon. I would go as early as you can to get the best, freshest stuff. You can always take a quick taxi back to your place and come back. donna

Or for the first day's veg and fruit any local veg stand or shop nearer your apartment would probably suffice and the time would work better.

Nigel is right on. While CDF is lovely and worth experiencing, ask your landlord where the fruttivendolo is in the neighborhood. They are often open mornings and re-open in late afternoon as people shop for dinner items.
