Campervanning in Europe

My husband and I and two children (12 and 5) are campervanning arounde Europe for 5 weeks from early September 2010. Just looking for advice on the best (low cost) campsites to stay at in Northern Italy, France, London, Geneva and Billund, Denmark if anyone has done the same thing. Any any advice on getting around ie we are thinking we will drive to each town then train it locally rather than try and manouevre the camper around small streets. Also how should we tackly Italy - stay centrally for say five or six nights and do day trips or stay a couple of nights here and there? Any advice welcome!

It may be worthwhile, at least for the UK part of your trip, to join the Caravan Club. It will give you access to many more sites that are exclusively for the use of members. They also have links with other European camping organisations.

You may need to make reservations early for in-demand camps like Bois de Boulogne in Paris, or even seaside camps in Italy or Spain or S. France. We traveled years ago in a VW camper and had a great time. We had a good German camping guide book (for all of Europe). Look for a up=to-date camping guide.
Have lots of fun camping with people from all over the world.
