Just found out about the express train option. Heading from Rome to Pompeii September 20. My train from Rome arrives in Naples at 845am. If I have deciphered the express schedule correctly it looks like their is an express train at 906am. Is that a realistic transfer time? Did I decipher the schedule correctly?

I think so. But if you miss it, it is long wait till the next train. That is basically why I prefer the Circumvesuvianna since I don't have to worry about the schedule and it is lot cheaper.

IF the time works for you, then the additional cost might well be worth it -- we weren't willing to sit around for two hours just to avoid the crowd on the Circumvesuviana.
